Two ASCOs are on exhibit at Izu Shaboten Zoo. This otter exhibit has nice feeding devices!

Mito Sea Paradise , the 2nd oldest aquarium in Japan , is located in Izu Peninsula. In 1982 they started sea otters' exhibit, and succeed breeding them 2 years later . (Both were the very first time in Japan!)

I went to Obihiro Zoo (Hokkaido Pref.) for the first time in two years. Things change.

Now, there are 3 North American River Otters(NAROs) in Japan. At Kushiro Zoo, a pair of NAROs live and are on exhibit.

NIFREL, a new facility produced by KAIYUKAN, is not like an aquarium or a zoo but allowing visitors to intuitively experience the beauty and wonder of living creatures. Ofcourse otters are on exhibition.
